How do you teach children to identify, work through, and understand big emotions? Talk about it!

Check out this super simple understanding of emotions through our mindfulness packet. We target the big 4 emotions:

1. Anger

2. Sadness

3. Fear

4. Jealousy

These emotions can be confusing. This packet focuses on tackling each emotion head-on by:

1. Identifying what the emotion means to the child.

2. Identifying what the emotion feels like in their body.

3. Identifying what might make them or another person feel that emotion

4. Problem-solving what to do when you know something might make you feel that emotion before you go into a situation.

5. Identify ways to calm down or work through the emotion.

6. Analyze what the emotion can teach them. (This can be as simple as identifying consequences or opens up the possibility for deeper conversations.
